Rescued Macaque ‘Joe’ Update
We have been overwhelmed with praise and support concerning the very special elderly Assamese macaque (Macaca assamensis) ‘Joe’, he was rescued 2 weeks ago from the deplorable conditions where he had spent 25 years of his life. Each day he is becoming more and more confident, trying more new exciting foods and moving around his enclosure in the WFFT quarantine centre. He communicates verbally with the other macaques that are currently housed close to him, we hope to introduce him to some other Assamese macaques soon. Here are some images of him this morning moving freely around, his new home. Thank you to all that have specifically donated to helping Joe and his fellow rescued macaques, we are drawing up plans to create some more wonderful open top field homes for these very special WFFT residents.
