Rescued – Bandai Long Tailed Macaque

ไม่กี่วันก่อนทีมกู้ภัย WFFT ได้เดินทางไปที่บริเวณวัดเขาบันไดอิฐหลังจากที่มีพลเมืองดีเเจ้งมาที่ WFFT ว่ามีลิงเเสม(Long-tailed Macaque)ตัวผู้ถูกรถชนได้รับบาดเจ็บสาหัสเเละต้องการความช่วยเหลืออย่างเร่งด่วน

เมื่อทีมกู้ภัยไปถึงพบว่า เจ้าบันไดมีสภาพอ่อนเเอ ไม่เคลื่อนไหวเเต่ไม่มีบาดแผลให้เห็น จึงสันนิษฐานว่ามีกระดูกหักไม่ต่ำกว่า 1 ที่ เเต่เมื่อกลับมา x-ray ที่โรงพยาบาลสัตว์ป่า กลับพบว่าไม่มีร่องรอยหักใดๆ ทั้งสิ้น ทางทีมสัตวเเพทย์จึงคาดการว่าน่าจะได้รับการกระทบกระเทือนทางสมองส่งผลให้ไม่ตอบสนองต่อสิ่งเร้า นอกจากนั้นยังพบกระสุนอีก 2 นัดฝังอยู่บริเวณต้นขา

เบื้องต้นทางทีมสัตวเเพทย์ได้ให้ยาขับน้ำเพื่อลดน้ำในสมองที่บวม เเละยาอื่นๆตามอาการ หลังจากนี้อีก 2,3 วันจะบอกได้คร่าวๆว่า บันได จะเป็นยังไงไงต่อไป

A few days ago the WFFT Rescue Team headed to Wat Khao Bandai It, in Phetchaburi Province. After a concerned local contacted us about a male Long-tailed Macaque (Macaca fascicularis) in need of emergency medical treatment after he had been hit by a car.

Upon arrival at the scene, the team found the macaque lying on the ground without any visible wounds. We assumed he had sustained broken bones during the accident. He was rushed back to the WFFT Wildlife Hospital for further examinations.

An x-ray was taken back at WFFT, it was found he has no fractured bones. He may have sustained a large impact to the head, which has caused some brain damage.

He is currently receiving specialized care. Hopefully over the next few days, it will become clearer if Bandai will be able to return back to the wild.
