A blind crocodile, named Bond, has been rescued and brought to WFFT, where he's now ready to start a new life in the sanctuary.
Happy International Gibbon Day!!
Happy International Gibbon Day!! WFFT is working to save these little apes from exploitation and extinction. #InternationalGibbonDay.
Last week a very special gibbon pair got a new home. ‘Dao’ (Star) is a female Pileated gibbon (Hylobates pileatus) who is 7 years old and who was rescued when she was 7 months old. She had been living as a pet for a few months before her owner realized that keeping a wild animal as a pet is not a good idea, as well as being illegal in Thailand. She has been raised by the WFFT Team until she got old enough to be independent. ‘Donkey’ is a 10-year-old male Pileated gibbon. He was rescued two years before Dao arrived at WFFT. Shortly after Dao’s arrival they were successfully introduced and have lived together ever since.
Here are some pictures of Donkey and Dao’s arrival on their island.
What a way to celebrate International Gibbon Day!!
