SMALL appeal to make a BIG difference for a monkey

Help us to take Coco home at WFFT!

This is Coco, he is 20 years old and is living in captivity in Koh Samui, he needs urgent help to be rescued!

He has been living in captivity for most of his life, he was first kept as a pet by a westerner who was living in Thailand, but when this irresponsible man decided to up and leave, he left Coco behind with his Thai neighbour. This was the 2nd time in his life that Coco had faced such a traumatic upheaval.

The neighbour nor the previous owner have/had any knowledge of the care needed, it’s diet and most importantly it’s need for space, hence why it has been kept trapped in a tiny rusty cage for most of it’s life.

A short while ago, Coco escaped from his little prison and in fear for his life bit a human and for this he was beaten black and blue with a wooden plank, resulting in a broken jaw.

He was lucky, in that he was taken to a veterinary hospital and given the urgent medical treatment he so badly needed, and he is now able to eat properly. However, living in such a tiny dirty cage, sitting in his own urine and faeces, and being fed in the dirt is no way to live and his Thai owner is now willing to release him to WFFT.

We would like to rescue him urgently and are appealing to you all to help us to do, we need to raise $700 (approx.450/€530), this will cover the costs of transportation, medical treatment, the 2 months he will need to spend in quarantine, regaining his strength, before moving into his new enclosure – hopefully with some new friends, who may become his new family.

Please log onto our website www.wfft.org to donate for this urgent appeal. If you donate for COCO please mention “COCO’s rescue” on the payment!
