Rescued – Orphaned Monkey ‘Pong Pang’

Meet “Pong-pang” a juvenile long-tailed macaque, a new resident at the Wildlife Friends Foundation. Pong-pang was raised by humans along with his sibling since they were babies. Unexpectedly, the owners moved out of the house and abandoned these 2 little souls without food and water. By the time a concerned citizen found and rescued them, it was too late for Pong-pang’s sibling.

The concerned citizen then brought Pong-pang to a nun at Khaotakrao temple because here there are many troops of monkeys. This nun has introduced many monkeys to the troop before.

However, because Pong Pang was raised by humans since he was very small, he is really attached to humans and too scared to join the troop, so they decided to contact us for help.

When the rescue team arrived at the temple, they found many monkeys surrounding Pong-pang with curiosity (one of them was a monkey that we rescued back in 2018, alive and well!!) Pong-pang was crying out loud consistently, so the nun covered him with scarf, walked to our car and handed the little monkey over to us!

Pong-pang is currently placed in our hospital, allowing him to settle in. He will be introduced to “Kailand”, another orphaned monkey that arrived earlier this month. We will keep you posted about their condition!

พบกับ ”ป๋องเเป๋ง” ลูกลิงเเสมสมาชิกใหม่ของมูลนิธิเพื่อนสัตว์ป่า ป๋องเเป๋งถูกเลี้ยงโดยมนุษย์ตั้งเเต่ยังเล็กพร้อมกับพี่น้องอีกตัว ต่อมาจู่ๆทางเจ้าของก็ย้ายบ้านออกไปทิ้งเจ้า 2 ตัวนี้ไว้โดยลำพังไม่มีทั้งอาหารเเละน้ำให้ จนพลเมืองดีมาพบเข้า เเต่กว่าจะมาพบก็สายไปซะเเล้วเนื่องจากพี่น้องของป๋องเเป๋งได้เสียชีวิตลง

ทางพลเมืองดีจึงนำตัว ป๋อง เเป๋ง ไปฝากไว้กับเเม่ชีที่วัดเขาตะเคราเพราะที่นั้นมีลิงอาศัยอยู่เยอะเเละอาจจะรวมฝูงกันได้ เเต่เนื่องจาก ป๋องเเป๋ง ถูกเลี้ยงโดยมนุษย์ตั้งเเต่ยังเล็กทำให้ป๋องเเป๋งติดคนเเละไม่กล้ารวมเข้ากับฝูง ทางพลเมืองดีจึงได้ติดต่อมายังมูลนิธิฯเพื่อหาบ้านหลังใหม่ให้กับเจ้าลิง

เมื่อทีมกู้ภัยไปถึงวัด พบว่ามีลิงมากมายมาล้อมรอบป๋องเเป๋งด้วยความสงสัย(หนึ่งในนั้นคือลิงที่เราได้ช่วยเอาไว้เมื่อปี 2018 ซึ่งมีสุขภาพที่เเข็งเเรงดี!) เนื่องจากเจ้าลิงร้องเสียงดังมากทำให้เเม่ชีต้องคลุมผ้าเเละเดินมาที่รถเพื่อส่งเจ้าลิงให้กับเรา

ขณะนี้เจ้าลิงน้อยกำลังอยู่ในช่วงปรับตัวกับบ้านหลังใหม่ ทางทีมสัตว์เเพย์จะค่อยๆเเนะนำให้เขาได้รู้จักกับ “ไคแลนด์” ลูกลิงกำพร้าอายุใกล้เคียงกันที่เราได้ช่วยเอาไว้เมื่อต้นเดือนที่ผ่านมา มาติดตามกันต่อไปนะครับ
