Portrait: Pocky! Pocky! Fun sweet lady!
Here is Pocky, a really really sweet female pig-tailed macaque who lives in one of our biggest open enclosure in Newlands. At the center everybody knows her, everybody loves her and can’t pass her home without saying ‘Pocky! Pocky!’. She became a WFFT’s resident in 2002, after being kept in the Highland Farm and Gibbon Rescue Center in Mae Sot, in a very small cage isolated from the other macaques. She was born with atrophied back legs which might be a reason for her past life of isolation and confinement , but since she has been rescued, she is really active, sweet and funny. She enjoys the open air social life with friends! As you can see, she loves corn and is the first one to run to have hers. ‘Corrnnnnn!!!!’
