Shampoo and Hoy, two stunning long-tailed macaques, have recently arrived at WFFT after enduring years in a cramped cage, deprived of sunlight and freedom.
On the way to a New Home – Maggie and Chico
WFFT’s resident great apes, Maggie and Chico the critically endangered orangutans, are now much closer to their wonderful new home. We have moved them from their old night enclosure to a new side enclosure connected to the new huge open forest area we have created for them. During the move they made a pit stop at the WFFT Wildlife Hospital so a full health check could be performed, including a full body x-ray which was performed for the first time. This whole operation would have not been possible without the kindness and support of Mr. Mike Beets, so thank you Mike!!! And a great big thank you to the International Primate Protection League. All the team at WFFT are waiting in excitement to see these very special apes out exploring very soon. Watch this space over the coming days for an update about their first exploration expedition around their new home.
