We rescued a wild slow loris after being chased by dogs and discovered she was pregnant. She was translocated back to the wild.
Magic Mike
We’ve named our latest rescue Mike in honor of WFFT sponsor Mike Beets. At just 4 days old, Mike is one of our youngest orphaned macaques, ever! His mother died during childbirth and he was found riddled with fleas in someone’s back garden. They gave him some goat milk which led to diarrhea, so they contacted WFFT for help. Because Mike didn’t get any colostrum (mother’s milk with antibodies), we are keeping an extra close eye on him. We hope to eventually pair him with Poppy, our other infant long tailed macaque whose mother was killed by dogs. Take a look at this cutie getting a flea bath and meal!
