Shampoo and Hoy, two stunning long-tailed macaques, have recently arrived at WFFT after enduring years in a cramped cage, deprived of sunlight and freedom.
Macaque creating trouble on airport, jailed at police station!
Now this story is probably unbelievable if it was without pictures as evidence… A macaque creates trouble at the Chumporn international airport, gets arrested by police and is later released “on bail” into the deep jungle….
The Mobile Wildlife Rescue unit (sponsored by Care for the Wild International) went out again on a rescue mission, this time to rescue a monkey from a probably long jail term…
In short; the macaque attacked several people at the airport and although the WFFT was on the way (a four hour trip) the police was able to corner the macaque and able to get a hold on the macaque. As there were no moving cages available in the neighborhood the police decided to lock the animal up in the jail at the police station till our rescue team would arrive…
