A blind crocodile, named Bond, has been rescued and brought to WFFT, where he's now ready to start a new life in the sanctuary.
8 Years of Abuse: Coconut Monkey, Dome’s Story
DONATIONS WILL BE MATCHED UNTIL 31 DECEMBER. PLEASE GIVE TODAY AND DOUBLE YOUR DONATION TO SAVE MORE LIKE DOME.
For eight long years, Dome was chained up, abused, and forced to climb trees to harvest coconuts—all for human gain. His life was one of unimaginable suffering, but in 2021, Dome’s journey toward healing began when he was rescued by WFFT.
Pig-tailed macaques, like Dome, are intelligent and social animals. The abuse and isolation these animals endure often leaves lasting scars. Dome, like many coconut monkeys, was so deeply traumatised that he struggled to socialise. Years of abuse left him unsure how to behave around other macaques, making it difficult to form bonds.
Thankfully, Dome is one of the lucky ones. With time, patience, and care, he has started to overcome his trauma. Now, miraculously, he enjoys the companionship of not one but two female friends named Shaba and Bai Toey.
However, there are still countless macaques trapped in servitude and suffering. We have an ambitious plan to end this cruelty and provide sanctuary to many more of these vulnerable animals, but we urgently need your generosity to make it a reality.
This festive season, please give so more of these amazing animals can get a second chance. Only together, can we change their futures.
