Shampoo and Hoy, two stunning long-tailed macaques, have recently arrived at WFFT after enduring years in a cramped cage, deprived of sunlight and freedom.
Bandit’s Babies
How many of you remember the 6 orphaned monkeys that were rescued last year (Poppy, Mike, Dumbo, Noo Deang, Baibua, and Jaiboon)? Last week they were moved to a newly refurbished field, a wonderful new spacious area, with a swimming pool, and climbing frames. The little ones are all settling in to their new home under the supervision of surrogate mother “Bandit”.
Bandit was born with only one arm with 2 fingers, and no legs. When she was 10 months old her mother abandoned her, but luckily a kind person found her and brought her to WFFT in 2005. Since then Bandit has helped raise many infant macaques. She gives them love and teaches them how to socialise and behave like monkeys. Bandit acts as an inspiration to us all, she amazes us with her strive for life. Take a look at this amazing new troop. Giving these poor little souls a second chance at a better life.
