Shampoo and Hoy, two stunning long-tailed macaques, have recently arrived at WFFT after enduring years in a cramped cage, deprived of sunlight and freedom.
Attacked macaque gets treatment
Monkey with large bite wounds rescued by WFFT
A large male long-tailed macaque was rescued by the WFFT wildlife rescue team today after being attacked by other monkeys or dogs. Villagers in Thayang called the wildlife rescue center hotline today after they did see a wounded monkey walking around the temple area in their village.
The WFFT team sped to the scene and darted the poor monkey with anesthesia so it could be treated by our vet team. The macaque will be kept at WFFT for a week to recover and then be returned back to its own habitat.
