Working together to help primates
The Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT) has joined hands with Ampol Food Processing and Theppadungporn Coconut Company to help find a long-term solution for the monkeys used in the coconut picking industry in Southern Thailand, starting on the island of Koh Samui.
New rescue: Chaba, southern pig-tailed macaque
Chaba most likely has no memory of her family and hasn’t seen another of her species since she was a baby. But that has already changed. When we moved her to our quarantine area, Chaba was fascinated and excited to see her monkey neighbours.
Mud-slinging with our youngest elephant, Pin.
Besides it being great fun for a young elephant like Pin, throwing mud on themselves also serves a very important purpose. The mud cools elephants down and provides their skin with protection from the sun and insects.
RELEASED – Kong Returns Home
Meet Kong, a juvenile Long-tailed macaque who was rescued 3 weeks ago. Some concerned locals had found Kong on the floor. He was rushed back to the WFFT Wildlife Hospital for emergency treatment.

The Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand, or WFFT, home to more than 800 rescued animals, had planned to celebrate its 20th anniversary on 1 May. Instead, we may be shutting many gates for the last time.

เรื่องราวการช่วยเหลือลิงน้อย “ลิลลี่” เมื่อไม่กี่วันที่ผ่านมา เราได้ต้อนรับสมาชิกใหม่ “ลิลลี่” เป็นลิงแสมทารกน้อยหางยาวที่พิเศษตัวหนึ่ง ถูกพบที่บริเวณข้างถนนและคิดว่าน่าจะเสียชีวิตแล้ว แต่เมื่อทีมช่วยชีวิตได้สัมผัสตัวเธอ ก็เริ่มเคลื่อนไหว จากนั้นก็ได้นำเธอไปที่โครงการดูแลสัตว์แห่งหนึ่งบนเกาะช้าง โดยมีคุณลิซ่าและทีมสามารถช่วยชีวิตเธอไว้ได้ เราถูกร้องขอให้เข้าช่วยเหลือเนื่องจากมีความชำนาญในการดูแลและฟื้นฟูสัตว์ทารกเลี้ยงลูกด้วยนมที่บาดเจ็บ หรือพิการ เราประเมินว่า “ลิลลี่” น่าจะมีอายุได้ซัก 4 เดือน และจากผลเอ็กซเรย์ยืนยันว่ากะโหลกศีรษะได้รับบาดเจ็บ เธออาจจะมีความบกพร่องทางร่างกายบางอย่างอยู่บ้างแต่เราก็มั่นใจว่า เธอจะสามารถใช้ชีวิตอย่างมีความสุขในแบบที่เธอเป็นได้ และที่โรงพยาลสัตว์ของมูลนิธิเพื่อนสัตว์ป่าของเรา เธอได้พบและให้ความสนใจกับลิงทารกน้อยอีก 4 ตัว ต้องคอยติดตามว่าสัมพันธภาพระหว่างเพื่อนใหม่ของเค้าทั้ง 5 จะเป็นอย่างไรต่อไป เรายังคงต้องการความช่วยเหลือจากทุกท่านในการช่วยเหลือสรรพสัตว์เช่นเดียวกับ “ลิลลี่”…

ลาแล้วปี 2563 ปีที่โควิด-19 ทำให้มูลนิธิเพื่อนสัตว์ป่าเหลืออาสาสมัครที่มาช่วยงานดูแลสัตว์ป่าน้อยมาก ไม่มีนักท่องเที่ยวมาเยี่ยมชมงานดูแลสัตว์ป่า หรือแม้กระทั่งแขกที่มาพักที่ Eco Lodge นั่นหมายความถึงรายได้หลักของมูลนิธิฯ ที่นำมาใช้จ่ายและรักษาดูแลสัตว์ป่าก็ขาดหายไปด้วย มูลนิธิฯต้องลดค่าใช้จ่ายหลาย ๆ อย่างลง โดยที่เรายังคงรักษามาตรฐานการดูแลสัตว์กว่า 700 ชีวิตไว้เช่นเดิม และในขณะเดียวกันเรายังคงช่วยเหลือสัตว์ป่าตามคำร้องเรียนจากชาวบ้านตามสถานที่ต่าง ๆ รวมถึงสุนัขและแมวที่มารักษา หรือเพื่อเพิ่มสวัสดิภาพให้แก่สัตว์ เช่น การทำหมัน การฉีดวัคซีน การถ่ายพยาธิอย่างต่อเนื่องอีกกว่า 1000 ตัวตลอดทั้งปี และขอขอบคุณ ปี 2563 สำหรับผู้มีอุปการะคุณทุกท่าน…
