Celebrating a whole year of Nam Chok. Still wearing her riding saddle on the day she was rescued, Nam Chok has now spent 365 days free of chains.
Welcome to La Ong Dao!
30 years of service of tourists and now retire!
Our November 2014 elephant rescue is about “La Ong Dao”, a 55 year old elephant that was rescued from an elephant camp in Pattaya, Thailand.
La Ong Dao has worked in tourism for the last 30 years and her rescue was an initiative of a few students of Shrewsbury’s International School in Bangkok, who started a fundraiser for her rescue. Lao Ong Dao is now since a week at WFFT and doing very well, walking freely around her large open enclosure, but still chained at night for a few more weeks as she needs to get used to the electrical fencing at our fields. We are proud to show you the first photos of La Ong Dao on her rescue and first days at WFFT!
