Rescue, Rehabilitation, and Release! An Electrocuted Macaque

Last week, we received a distress call about a long-tailed macaque in urgent need of help.

This poor monkey had been electrocuted and chased by dogs. After a thorough examination, we found minor injuries near his eyebrow and on his right leg.

Thankfully, X-rays and blood tests showed no major issues. With the right medication and close monitoring, he made a swift recovery, and we’re thrilled to share that he has already been released back to the wild!

Watch his story in the video below.

Long-tailed macaques are endangered and face constant threats due to human-wildlife conflict, making this rescue and release even more special.
