Update on rescued coconut monkey, Mr Big Foot

His days of cruelty, chains, and collecting coconuts are over. Here is an update on Mr. Big Foot.

In January 2024, we welcomed Mr. Big Foot, an abandoned coconut monkey from Koh Samui. He endured years of exploitation and hardship. His story is one of terrible cruelty—his teeth were shaved down, and he was forced through abuse to harvest coconuts day in and day out. When Mr. Big Foot was found, he was emaciated, with a heavy chain around his neck.

But those dark days are finally behind him! With the help of our partner, Samui Snake and Wildlife Rescue, we gave him the second chance he deserves. As soon as he arrived, we removed the chain, marking the start of his new life.

Mr. Big Foot has been slowly recovering from the emotional and physical trauma he endured. He’s gained a lot of strength and some weight. He still displays stress behaviour as a result of the terrible abuse he suffered, but we are committed to giving him the peaceful life he deserves.

Please consider donating to support his continued care and to help rescue others like him.
