Celebrating a whole year of Nam Chok. Still wearing her riding saddle on the day she was rescued, Nam Chok has now spent 365 days free of chains.
Opening Ceremony WFFT Elephant Wild Enclosure
Elephants getting their own forest!
Our Elephant Wild Enclosure has been officially opened; 5 hectares of forest for our rescued elephants to freely roam in. The main donors from Australia; Joan Pearson & Friends, who helped to make this all happen, were present at the ceremony. The monks of the temple of Kao Look Chang blessed the enclosure, after which our rescued elephants could happily start munching on the big baskets of fruit inside the enclosure.
Joan Pearson has been organizing fundraisers in Sydney Australia for some time now and last year was able to raise enough money to rescue two elephants and help to purchase a very large piece of land for our rescued elephants. On the photos on this page we show you the result of this new project!
Joan, you are an angel!
