URGENT: Zoo animals need rehoming

UPDATE: The 11 animals are now safe at WFFT. But we still urgently need funds to build new homes for all of them. Please help if you can.

URGENT! We just received word that 11 zoo animals in Koh Samui need rehoming immediately. ภาษาไทยคลิกที่นี่

Right now, we simply do not have the funds to take on these new animals. We are told there are 11 animals who need the most urgent help, and time is of the essence. Can you make an emergency donation so we can bring all of them or some of them to WFFT asap?

We need to put together a rescue team, prepare enclosures and then commit to the life-long care of these animals. The number of animals we can take is dependent on the amount of available funds. With such few tourists and volunteers right now, we are already struggling to cover the costs to feed and care for the 700+ animals currently at WFFT.

The pandemic is causing devastating consequences for humans and animals alike. With no tourists, some animal attractions are finding it hard to feed their animals and are closing down. This zoo in Koh Samui is no longer able to take care of these 11 animals and has asked for our urgent help. 

We know we can provide the seven monkeys, three otters and leopard cat with a good life. But we can’t do it without help. Their futures are in the hands of supporters like you.

ด่วน!  ทางมูลนิธิฯได้รับแจ้งข่าวว่ามีสวนสัตว์แห่งหนึ่งในเกาะสมุยกำลังจะปิดตัวลง และมีสัตว์ 11 ชีวิตที่ต้องการแหล่งพักพิงใหม่โดยเร็วที่สุด 

ณ ขณะนี้มูลนิธิฯมีกำลังไม่เพียงพอที่จะช่วยเหลือชีวิตใหม่เหล่านี้ เราได้รับแจ้งว่ามีสัตว์ทั้งหมด 11 ชีวิต ที่ต้องการความช่วยเหลืออย่างเร่งด่วนที่สุด ทางมูลนิธิฯ จึงอยากจะขอวิงวอนท่านผู้มีจิตเมตตาต่อสัตว์ช่วยสนับสนุนการช่วยเหลือสัตว์ในกรณีฉุกเฉินเช่นนี้เพื่อให้เราสามารถเข้าช่วยเหลือสัตว์ทั้ง 11 ชีวิตนี้ หรือบางส่วนให้มาดูแลต่อที่มูลนิธิฯได้ 

ทางมูลนิธิฯต้องเตรียมความพร้อมสำหรับการเข้าช่วยเหลือในหลาย ๆ ด้าน ทั้งการเตรียมกรงเพื่อรองรับสัตว์ใหม่ และคำมั่นสัญญาในการรับผิดชอบดูแลสัตว์ทั้งหมดที่เราช่วยเหลือมาไปจนตลอดชีวิต ซึ่งจำนวนสัตว์ที่เราจะสามารถช่วยเหลือได้ ขึ้นอยู่กับจำนวนบริจาคที่เราได้รับเช่นกัน ณ ตอนนี้มูลนิธิฯเองไม่มีนักท่องเที่ยวหรืออาสาสมัครเข้ามาช่วยสนับสนุนทุนเราแต่อย่างใด แต่เรายังจำเป็นต้องการทุนสนับสนุนเพื่อมาดูแลสัตว์ทั้งหมดกว่า 700 ชีวิตของเรา  

วิกฤตโรคระบาด ‘โควิด-19’ นี้ สร้างความเสียหายและส่งผลกระทบอย่างร้ายแรงต่อมวลมนุษย์และสัตว์ป่า เมื่อไม่สามารถเดินทางได้จึงไม่มีนักท่องเที่ยว ทำให้แหล่งท่องเที่ยวต่าง ๆ เช่น สวนสัตว์ ได้รับความลำบากในการหารายได้เพื่อดูแลสัตว์ จนทำให้สวนสัตว์ต้องตัดสินใจปิดกิจการลง เช่นเดียวกับสวนสัตว์ที่เกาะสมุยแห่งนี้ที่ต้องการให้ท่านช่วยเหลือสัตว์ทั้ง 11 ชีวิตโดยด่วน 

ขอวิงวอนให้ท่านผู้สนับสนุนช่วยบริจาคร่วมมือกันช่วยเหลือสัตว์ทั้ง 11 ชีวิต  เรารู้ว่าเราจะช่วยเหลือลิง 7 ตัว นาก 3 ตัว และ แมวดาว 1  ตัว ให้มีชีวิตที่ดีที่มูลนิธิฯ ได้ หากไม่มีท่านภารกิจนี้จะเป็นไปไม่ได้ ชีวิตสัตว์ในวันพรุ่งนี้และวันต่อ ๆ ไปขึ้นอยู่กับผู้สนับสนุนเช่นท่านทั้งหลาย
