Rescued : Electrocuted Juvenile Long-tailed Macaque

กลางดึกวันเสาร์ที่ผ่านมาทีมกู้ภัยมูลนิธิเพื่อนสัตว์ป่าได้มุ่งหน้าไปช่วยลิงเเสม (Long-tailed macaque) ตัวน้อยหลังจากได้รับเเจ้งถูกกสายไฟฟ้าช็อตและตกลงนอนหมดสติอยู่ที่พื้นเมื่อกลับมาถึงที่โรงพยาบาลทีมสัตวเเพทย์ได้ตรวจร่างกายเเละพบเเผลไหม้บริเวณเเขนขวาเเละขาทั้ง2ข้างนับว่าโชคดีที่อาการไม่ร้ายเเรงจนเกินไป

ลิงเเสมเป็นสายพันธุ์ที่พบได้มากที่สุดในประเทศไทยพวกมันถูกพบเห็นได้ทุกที่ไม่ว่าจะเป็นบริเวณป่า สวนสาธารณะสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวหรือวัดสิ่งนี้สะท้อนให้เห็นว่ามนุษย์ได้บุกรุกถิ่นที่อยู่อาศัยตามธรรมชาติของลิงเเสมโดยการตัดไม้ทำลายป่าแปลงป่าเป็นที่ดินเพื่อทำเกษตรหรือที่อยู่อาศัย

Late on Saturday evening the WFFT Wildlife Rescue Team headed to downtown Phetchaburi to rescue a young male long-tailed macaque (Macaca fascicularis) that had been electrocuted and fallen to the ground. After a medical examination, the Vet Team found he had sustained terrible burns around both legs and his right arm.

The long-tailed macaque is the most common species of primate in Thailand. They are ubiquitous, whether in the forests, parks, tourist sites, or temples. It reflects how humans are invading and disturbing the natural habitats of long-tailed macaques. These monkeys are left with no choice but to co-exist with humans, which lead them to steal food and raid properties eventually human-wildlife conflicts occur. Injuries can occur from crossing busy roads or climbing on exposed power lines.

This problem is considered a dispute between people and monkeys that must be fixed as soon as possible. WFFT is willing to cooperate with the government to end this problem.

He will stay at the WFFT Wildlife Hospital under close observation until he has recovered and be able to return to the wild.
