Wildlife trader on Facebook caught red-handed

Thai authorities seize clouded leopard carcasses, golden cat and leopard cat skins and other animal parts after a man offered wildlife for sale on Facebook. On 25 March 2019, The Department of National Park (Phaya Seua task force) in cooperation with police and military in Ratchaburi acted upon a tip off and investigated after a Facebook post with photographs of wildlife carcasses and skins for sale, found after obtaining a search-warrant then they found carcasses of protected animals which included 23 clouded leopards pieces of skin, 13 golden cat and 9 leopard cat skins, and 2 muntjac horns. The goods were found at Mr.Adul Martlueng’s (อดุลย์ มาตรเหลือง) house at 388/19 Moo 1 Tha KhoeiSuan, Phueng District, Ratchaburi. Mr.Adul Martlueng has been arrested and is being held awaiting trial at Suan Phung Police Station.
