We rescued a wild slow loris after being chased by dogs and discovered she was pregnant. She was translocated back to the wild.
Poppy, the Tiniest Baby Macaque
Meet Poppy, our newest baby long tailed macaque. She was only a few hours old when her mother was attached and killed by dogs. Lisa, who has been rescuing dogs for decades in Koh Chang, took her in and handed her to WFFT when she was 10 days old and weighed 420 grams. Including her mohawk, she was barely larger than a cell phone! Mickey Mouse provides some comfort now as a surrogate parent while our wildlife hospital staff provides round the clock care.
WFFT is launching a sterilization program of street dogs and cats soon. By improving the welfare and controlling populations of strays, we will also help local wildlife.
