Bo the temple monkey
Pigtailed macaque rescue
Bo the abused pigtailed macaque from a Petchaburi temple is recovering well at WFFT. Bo suffered a broken leg after being beaten by his owner, the Temple Abbott, and was left crippled on his chain for a week before WFFT was called to the rescue by a concerned member of the public.
Bo is free from his chains for the first time in years but still has to be confined until his cast can be removed in a few weeks. With no welfare law in place to protect this monkey from abuse we rely on direct negotiations with the owner to allow permanent refuge at our Centre. We will do everything we can to ensure a safe and happy future for Bo.
