Honey Bamboo!

The least we can say is that our bears are more than bearly gourmets ! Our Wildlife Staff and volunteers know this ! Each day, in addition to their regular food, they have enrichments, like all the rescued animals of the WFFT center. Here to stimulated them and encourage their natural behaviour they receive treats too. And what better treat for a bear than honey?! And what better way than Bamboo sections to hide it and get our furry friends to rip it apart to reach the precious nectar, using claws and teeth. Thus providing mental and physical stimulation.

But before they can enjoy this process our volunteers have to make these enrichments.

Saw the bamboo, baste the Honey on banana leaves, fold the leaves and place them in the bamboo.
